Someone's ripped of our website, royal!

It's just a few days since I wrote a post on copying, and I'm sad to say that today I found, via Google Analytics, that a musician by the name of Julian Hasse has ripped off Paul Jamie Kidd's design work on my website, and even gone as far as to use my 'about me' section, simply editing a few words to make it music-orientated.

This sad individual has fallen short of changing the 'payments' page and 'links' page, and also the drop down box with a little extra info about me.

Funny really, this bloke admits to enjoying buying dresses and watching Sex and the City.

They say imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.  I don't feel flattered. I feel like creative rape has been committed. It ain't nice.

I'll be back with more on how this is going to be dealt with!

xoxo

I should note that Julian Hasse may not be the person responsible for copying, he may have paid a 'designer', but it's in his hands to deal with. He's been emailed advising him legal action will be taken if it's not dealt with. He has replied that he is out of the country and will deal with it on Friday. Let's see!

Lol, he's not even changed the blog link, so when you click it it still goes to your blog... I am speachless at the blatantness of him ripping you and Kidd81 off, he's not even tried to hide it!

THAT IS SO SHOCKING! How does someone think they can get away with that?! Your design doesn't even go with whatever it is he's trying to do!

I hope he does the right thing... I'm so sorry this happened to you & what you must be going through on so many levels.

I couldn't believe this when I saw this on Twitter !
I can only take so much copying news in a week and this one crossed the line sister!

What is most shocking to me is how his story is your story but changed to suit him, even my bf who doesn't really usually care about all the twitter/etsy/crafty news was completely astounded!

oh this is hilarious, especially straight after paperchase. it'd be cool if lots of his customers did start sending you payments though ;-)

Goodness me! What a larf. I'm guessing you've already cleared it with your designer that they didn't sell it on to someone else so OMG.
I can't see the links that hadn't been changed so I guess he's removed them now but whether it was him or someone who sold him the design, he's still a bit of an idiot...or possibly naive.
If I was paying someone else to design a site for me, I'd be damn sure to make sure all of it worked and that the links were correct!

No dress hate please, dresses are noice - sex & the city is debatable though ;)
