Recent Press

I was overjoyed to hear I had been featured on SoFeminine in a collection entitled 'Accessories you won't find on the high street'!

They say 'We’re loving this vintage oversized bubble heart pendant... she’s got one cool granny'. I say 'She was the coolest Grandma ever!'.

It was also exciting to hear the KitschenSink has made it into the August issue of Live and Love York Magazine, in their 'Creative Brief' section. This month's brief was 'Nostalgia'.

You can find me on page 49 :)

I'm so pleased, it's a lovely little magazine!

I have so many updates for you... soon

A Super Duper AfFair

Yesterday was the Super Duper Fair in Blackpool and my hopes for the day weren't high. I could not see where I was driving down the motorway for the heavy rain! But as we approached the coast, the rain cleared.

Kate B (my faithful assistant for the day) and I had tea and bacon sandwiches on arrival. Perfect start.

The fair really was Super Duper! It only last four hours, but we had plenty of sales and cups of tea in that time.  Here's Helen of Hello Memo, her stall, and her famous dead squirrel

And a little shot of inside the marquee. You might be able to see the KitschenSink stall to the back and right if you look hard enough!

After the fair we hot-footed to the seafront to have fish and chips before speeding back to get Kate to work on time.

Next on the agenda is Saltaire Makers Fair! Woo!

Craftacular, craftacular!

On Saturday just gone, I had the awesome privilege of selling KitschenSink at Bust London Craftacular.  I've been following the Craftacular's movements for some time and was overjoyed when I was offered a half stall at this summer's event.

The Craftacular massive. I've never sold at a fair so big. And every single stall was top-notch quality and fairly priced. Check out the size! It was held at York Hall in Bethnal Green. All the customers were very cool and very beautiful.

I think the thing that excited me about Bust Craftacular was the coordinator's attention to detail - they even had DJs on, all day, playing a fantastic mix of music for us to dance to!

It was great to see Leona from LLROK running her tea shoppe, and I shared my stall with Cleo from Feverette who I met at the LLROK Business Secrets Seminar.  I met lots of designer/makers who I follow the blogs of and Twitter with, such as Lee May from Bonbi Forest, Chloë from Hatastic!, Anna from Custom Made and Polly from Brat and Suzie. Of course I have left loads out but I Have limited space.

Here's me and my stall!

Credit to Samantha for the excellent photo! And read her take on the Craftacular here

It was also way cool to meet many of my Twitter friends who all, as promised, introduced themselves!

The rest of the weekend in London was super-fun! Samantha had to work on Saturday night so Marco (her boyfriend and my old school friend) took me to a wild London party. Then we slept til 1pm, hung out and ate toast and had an amazing vegetarian barbeque. Marco made frijoles negros volteados, Samantha made home made guacamole, Steve made some vegetable kebabs and I cut up lime into wedges for rum and coke. Oh it was a sunny day and we sat on the roof.... good times!

I have other things to blog about but I'm waiting on a delivery! I haven't forgotten about my amazing gifts ;-)

I heart: Journalers

I wish I was a better doodler and once I went to Muji and bought a notebook to make awesome journal doodles and notes but I drew something and it looked shit so I never bothered again! But I do like to look at other awesome journalers (did I make up that word? I don't know...) check out their Flickrs!

Big favourite - Anna Denise
I have been stalking following Anna's work on Flickr for a while. It's bloody awesome.

Too too cute - Kitty Pink Stars

...who is showcasing a 30 Journal Challenge. Her work reminds me of the covers of Jacqueline Wilson books (which is pretty cool)

...makes me want to get the felt tips out! Wy did teachers tell us at school 'no felt tips'? What a stupid rule.
Happy journaling!

On The Wall and the rest...

Saturday was great at On The Wall this week - it was a good warm-up for Bust next Saturday!  Here's how I set up my stall (apologies for blurriness, taken on iPhone)

To Bust Craftacular, I'll be taking 'Death by Comicide - Love Collection' (the bubble heart favourites); 'Death by Comicide - Manga Collection' (one-of-a-kind Japanese comic pendants); 'Marjorie Loves... Vintage Re-casts' (cameos and anchors in bright colours re-cast from vintage originals); the Tooth Rot Collection and the new Forecast of Fun collection. I hope I can fit it all on!

My stall was next to Chickadeedee, who sells bags, canvases and cushions with her awesome illustration on inspired by her work as a burlesque dancer. Keep an eye out for her and her work!

After the craft market, a friend and I went to eat at Wagamama. Did you know I have 'issues' about eating with people I don't know? Well, that's the situation. Did you know at Wagamama everyone sits on a long bench so you end up setting with people you don't know if there's just two or three of you? Well, that's the situation. So although I love their food, I find the experience quite un-nerving. They serve up quite large portions there and when my food arrived, a guy sat next to my pal opposite looked and said 'Jesus!', which really irritated me. It's OK though, because Natalie and I are pretty good at producing are own canned laughter whenever necessary, so we laughed really hard at him. Ha ha ha ha ha ha

Wagamama Moustache Madame

Speaking of hair, mine looks a mess here.
I really like this fringe of Elsie's of A Beautiful Mess blog.

Nice and thick and straight and blunt. That's what I will do next time.

Sunday was spent with friends, sitting on the sofa and playing with a baby called Alfie!

I hope you had a fantastical weekend,

Birthday snaps

Here's me blowing the candles out on my cake! I haven't done this in a fair few years! I ate tapas with friends and this magnificent victoria sponge appeared. It was a devil to cut up! Do you know... I don't think I made a wish! Missed a trick there

What's that? Nice necklace you say?
